SWAPO2 began in 2007 to represent a specific geographic region of soutwest Arlington and parts of Kennedale. Our group helped to negotiate a natural gas lease with Carburante and Carrizo drilling. Many signed the lease in 2008 and at the time of signing it was a near-record combination of bonus and royalties. After the fall of 2008, all lease signings associated with SWAPO2 and the original contract were closed. Except for monitoring environmental and safety conditions, our role as an organizer of individual property owners was completed.

  

Carrizo Gas Well Appears Completed in SWAPO2 Area

Since the original lease was for three years, and some of these signed as early as March 5, 2008, we verified this month that Carrizo has been drilling on the southwest side of 287 along hte frontage road between Little Road and Kennedale-Sublett road (click here for larger version of Composite Carizzo and Google map). This location is slightly northwest of the older Chesapeake site that was not affiliated with our area.

 

 

 

As of March 5, Carrizo showed their drill site in a state of "completion" before the end of the earliest leases, and therefore appear to have kept their commitment to drill within the three-year lease period. The main drill tower has been disassembled.

 

Therefore, it appears likely that production operations and potential royalties may accrue.
